Dodgers would break baseball by adding another All-Star in proposed trade image

The Los Angeles Dodgers have done everything that any other team in Major League Baseball wishes they could do in recent years, but there have been some rough parts of the Dodgers' seasons. One in particular has been the issues they’ve faced on the mound due to the injuries.

Does that mean the Dodgers need to go out and add an ace? Probably not, but all Andrew Friedman has shown us over the past few years is that he's willing to do so. In a recent trade proposal, the Dodgers would do just that in a trade with the Milwaukee Brewers.

Jay Staph of Just Baseball pitched the idea of the Dodgers landing Peralta in a deal that would send Ben Casparius and Alex Freeland to Milwaukee, giving the Brewers two decent pieces.

“However, if there’s one issue the Dodgers constantly run into as the season progresses, it’s injuries. The only starting pitchers to eclipse the 100-inning mark for the team this season were Clayton Kershaw and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, which speaks to the health struggles that they’ve faced.

“Adding Freddy Peralta to this group is another safety net in case things go south once again, as he’s proven he can stay healthy and eat up significant innings over the past few seasons,” he wrote

With Blake Snell, Tyler Glasnow, and others, it's almost unfair to suggest that the Dodgers will go into a season and that we should assume they'll be healthy.

Not only is Peralta one of the better starters in baseball, but he's also proven that he can stay healthy when it matters most.
