Dodgers reportedly showing interest in Cody Bellinger as Yankees talks continue to stall image

New York Yankees fans won’t like this one, but it’s something they already knew or were expecting.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are once again looking at a familiar name as they look to add to an already loaded roster.

According to Jon Heyman of the New York Post, the Dodgers have shown interest in Cody Bellinger, who remains one of the more intriguing free agents still available.

Bellinger’s market appears to be one of the strangest in baseball, but that also gives the Dodgers every reason to go out and land him.

“Bellinger is believed drawing interest from at least the Dodgers, Giants and Mets, and the Blue Jays could make sense depending on their other big pursuits (Tucker and Bichette). Bellinger’s old Cubs team also expressed interest, but their agreement with Alex Bregman for $175M for five years, first reported by The Post, might take them out of it,” he wrote.

Bellinger’s defensive versatility, left-handed power, and familiarity with the organization all check boxes, especially for a team that values great professionals like Bellinger.

Even if Los Angeles doesn’t need him (it doesn’t need anyone), it is never shy about upgrading when the opportunity presents itself.

This just feels like one of those moments where the Dodgers will get involved, and Bellinger will go back on a deal that everybody is upset with.
