It's safe to expect the Los Angeles Dodgers to replenish with no problems.

But they'll have a few gaps to fill in the organization. This week, 17 of their minor league players have moved on to free agency.

The list was released by Major League Baseball and shared by Baseball America. It's about an average number among all MLB teams for this offseason. Players have their six years in an organization expire, or veterans in the minors have their shorter contracts run out, and they head to free agency.

Baseball America shared this list of 17 new free agents from the Dodgers' system:

  • Logan Boyer
  • Jeisson Cabrera
  • Sam Carlson
  • Kyle Funkhouser
  • Giovanny Gallegos
  • Michael Grove
  • Joel Ibarra
  • Justin Jarvis
  • Kelvin Bautista
  • Jorge Benitez
  • Zach Penrod
  • Christian Suarez
  • Chris Okey
  • Luken Baker
  • CJ Alexander
  • Kody Hoese
  • Jose Ramos

Of those players, 12 were most recently at Triple-A, four were at Double-A and one was at High-A. Most had little chance of breaking through for the Dodgers soon.

Gallegos, Grove and Funkhouser are three arms with some top-level experience who could get contracts elsewhere.

A lot of these players will get new minor league deals, maybe some back with the Dodgers, and others moving on to new systems. But there don't appear, at first glance, to be many major losses for L.A. Here.
