The Bo Bichette saga continues as the last wave of free agents searches for their next team with Spring Training looming ever closer. Bichette has expressed a desire to return to Toronto, the only place he has called home in his career. Currently, the Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Blue Jays appear to be the three main contenders in the race for Bichette.

“Bichette/Phillies meeting is said to have gone very well fwiw. Bichette admires “first class” organization. Other pluses: roster, park, Mattinglys link, spring proximity to home. Would Phils need to deal Bohm, do lesser C than JT? Other Bo suitors: Jays, Red Sox, NYY, LAD, more,” MLB insider Jon Heyman posted.

SNY’s Anthony McCarron believes the Dodgers are the team most likely to get a deal done with Bichette.

“The Dodgers are two-time defending champs and already addressed one weakness by adding Edwin Díaz. They only got a.649 OPS from their second basemen last season, so they sign Bo Bichette to fix another flaw. It puts Bichette at a position he’s better suited for and adds a nifty contact bat to their lineup. Could be a short-term deal, which Bichette, who turns 28 in March, might consider because it’d put him back on the market while still in his prime. Three-peat, anyone,” McCarron wrote.

If the Dodgers land Bichette, they would instantly become the team to beat, adding another premium bat to an already powerful lineup. The Dodgers have yet to make a blockbuster move this offseason, and Bichette would certainly change that.

Los Angeles has the chance to accomplish something no organization has done in decades: win three consecutive World Series. Adding Bichette to the mix makes the Dodgers feel like a team built to win it all. As always, the Dodgers continue to stack talent.
