The Los Angeles Dodgers can never be counted out in major free agent pursuits.
And with so many of the big name hitters still available -- Kyle Tucker, Bo Bichette, Cody Bellinger, Alex Bregman -- it seems like L.A. Probably will end up with one just by default.
Bleacher Report's Tim Kelly has been on top of the best free agent hitters with projections throughout the offseason, and he's got an intriguing update to Bichette.
Kelly originally predicted Bichette to return to the Blue Jays on a seven-year deal for $210 million.
Now, Kelly projects Bichette to get a three-year, $120 million contract... From the Dodgers.
"After signing corner infielder Kazuma Okamoto to a four-year deal, it appears the Blue Jays could pivot—maybe to Tucker—rather than bringing back Bo Bichette," Kelly writes. "Toronto could roll with Andrés Giménez and Ernie Clement up the middle, as opposed to making a major commitment to Bichette."

The Blue Jays are working hard this offseason and could keep Bichette, too, so there's a lot still to be determined here.
The Dodgers certainly wouldn't mind getting a pure hitter like Bichette into their already stacked lineup.
"What a story it would be if the first game that Bichette plays after Toronto's crushing Game 7 loss in the World Series is to the team that they lost to, the Dodgers," Kelly writes. "Los Angeles could make out like bandits giving Bichette the same deal that Alex Bregman signed with the Red Sox last year, and having him be their starting second baseman while knowing he has shortstop in his bag of tools."
This would be about the most painful outcome you could give to Blue Jays fans. They'll certainly be hoping it doesn't actually play out this way.
