The Los Angeles Dodgers' biggest enemy this season has been the health of their own players. They recently lost Max Muncy, and could try to replace him via trade.
Muncy is expected to return, but adding a utility bat would allow the Dodgers to get creative with their lineup. Tommy Edman is capable of playing many positions, but with Muncy out, he has seen plenty of time at third base. The team could move him to the outfield more if they had another option at third base.
Time is running out to trade for a utility bat. However, The Athletic's Jim Bowden noted that the team is open to finding a replacement for Muncy by the end of the month.
"The Dodgers will be open to also adding a utility player to help fill in the gaps left by their injured players, including third baseman Max Muncy, who is making progress in his recovery from a knee injury," wrote Bowden.
Adding a utility bat would also allow the Dodgers to help get Michael Conforto out of the lineup when Muncy is ready to return. It would allow Edman to play in the outfield and Kim to continue to share second base with the net utility man.

There could be some solid options available for the Dodgers, but they may be outbid by more needy teams. A player like Willi Castro could be an ideal addition for the Dodgers.
