Edwin Diaz was already popular with the New York Mets by the time he started entering games to his now-famed Timmy Trumpet song.
The tune didn't hurt, though. Every Diaz appearance became an event.
Diaz isn't with the Mets anymore, though. He has signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers in free agency for three years and $69 million.
At his introductory press conference, naturally, Diaz was asked about the song.
It's staying.

It surely will take almost no time at all for the Dodgers' fanbase to get riled up by the exciting entrance song.
And hey, if it helps Diaz do his best work, it's gotta stay.
If Mets fans hear that tune at any point, it may make them sad.
But in Hollywood, it's going to turn into an anthem.
