With a win over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday night, the Los Angeles Dodgers secured their 12th National League West title in the past 13 seasons. That level of dominance has defined the franchise for more than a decade, with the lone exception coming in 2021, when the Dodgers went 106-56 but still finished a game behind the San Francisco Giants.

The Dodgers’ stars once again carried the offense. Freddie Freeman, Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani combined to drive in seven of the team’s eight runs in the 8-0 victory. Outfielder Andy Pages added a solo home run, his second straight game going deep, giving Los Angeles yet another spark in a lineup that has produced all year.

On the mound, the Dodgers were just as sharp. Their pitching staff held Arizona to five hits while striking out 12 in a combined shutout. The effort was emblematic of the balance that has fueled their run through the division.

With the win, Los Angeles closed out its schedule against NL West rivals with a 36-16 record, a .692 winning percentage. That dominance not only secured the division but also complicated the playoff picture for Arizona. The Diamondbacks now trail the New York Mets by two games and the Cincinnati Reds by one in the wild-card race with only three games left.

For the Dodgers, the path ahead is clear. Locked into the No. 3 seed, they will not earn a bye but will host the first round of the playoffs. Their opponent will be the lowest wild-card qualifier, likely the Mets or Reds, though Arizona remains mathematically alive.
