Clayton Kershaw is at the All-Star Game as a "legend" pick by commissioner Rob Manfred.
It's certainly an accurate descriptor of the Los Angeles Dodgers' lefty legend who recently reached 3,000 career strikeouts.
It also has him serving as a sort of unofficial elder statesman at the All-Star proceedings.

Unc, derived from uncle, is a term often used with endearment toward an older mentor.
Kershaw fits the mold, especially relative to all the young stars at the All-Star Game.
