The Los Angeles Dodgers are always one of the busiest teams in the offseason, and while this winter is a little more subdued than normal, the Dodgers are still making moves.

Edwin Diaz is the big signing so far this winter, and while they're interested in Kyle Tucker and other top free agents and trade targets, the Dodgers' next moves are more underrated signings/releases.

The Dodgers announced two roster moves on Tuesday, one signing of an infielder from an AL Contender, and another player getting released not long after being added to the Dodgers roster.

Dodgers announce two roster moves

"The Dodgers have signed IF Andy Ibanez to a one-year contract for $1.2 million." The Dodgers announced. "In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers designated IF/OF Tyler Fitzgerald for assignment."

Andy Ibanez was with the Detroit Tigers in 2025, helping the Tigers become an AL Central contender. While he wasn't a big part of the team, he still was a contributor coming off the bench at times.

His role will be the same with the Dodgers, as Ibanez is a depth signing for the Dodgers, adding some extra infield versatility to the roster.

Meanwhile, Tyler Fitzgerald, whom the Dodgers recently signed after his release from the Minnesota Twins, is getting released again to make room on the 40-man roster.

Ibanez is getting $1.2 million, while Fitzgerald was getting significantly less. The last man on the roster was cut to make room for Ibanez, who will now be a key bench bat and fielder for the Dodgers in 2026.

The 32-year-old will join a Dodgers roster looking for some depth in the infield, and with Ibanez having MLB experience at shortstop, third base, second base, and even the outfield, he's a high-quality depth piece for Los Angeles and Dave Roberts in 2026.
