Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages is solely focused on spring training.
According to Yordano Carmona of Pelota Cubana USA on X, Pages confirmed that he will not play for Team Cuba at the World Baseball Classic.
"I have a lot of things to improve, and I need to prepare for a long season," Pages said in his conversation with Pelota Cubana, per Carmona. "I have to focus on what's most important."
Pages, 25, was born in La Habana, Cuba, and defected from the island at age 16 to pursue a professional baseball career.
Pages' role with the Dodgers
Pages had a breakout sophomore season with the Dodgers in 2025, hitting 27 home runs while slashing.272/.313/.461. His walk rate was a minuscule 4.6%, but Los Angeles has enough star power in the lineup to make up for it.
Even with the addition of Kyle Tucker, his starting job in center field should be safe. As the Dodgers' roster is currently constructed, Alex Call is the backup center fielder.
Cuba's roster for the WBC is still developing, but Pages could've been a game-changer.
