The new year is just about here.
The Los Angeles Dodgers still have plenty of work to get done in free agency.
They are one of a number of big-market clubs still after the two big fish out there to be had on the hitter market: Kyle Tucker and Cody Bellinger.
"While any team would gladly welcome Tucker, not every club is a realistic suitor at this point," MLB.com's staff wrote on Wednesday. "He's been tied to several AL East clubs -- perhaps most notably the Blue Jays -- as well as the Dodgers. Bellinger, meanwhile, has also been linked to the Dodgers, as well as both New York clubs."
It's an intriguing situation for all involved.

Bo Bichette is also still available, and because of the salaries expected to go to these big-name hitters, they're a bit like dominoes.
Bellinger, who in some ways is a slightly lesser version of Tucker, could remain a free agent until Tucker signs. Then the teams that are competing for Tucker could pivot to compete for Bellinger.
Bichette is in a different spot simply because he's an infielder, not an outfielder, so his negotiations are more separate. But there's still only so much money to go around, especially with the Blue Jays likely still pursuing both Tucker and Bichette.
The Dodgers, of course, don't necessarily need more firepower. But that's not how they operate. They're going after anyone they can get.
So don't be surprised in the early days of 2026 if the Dodgers add a marquee name to their lineup.
