The last decade has proved to be a tough one for the Los Angeles Angels and their fanbase. Even with Shohei Ohtani joining Mike Trout to start his career, the club still struggled.

The Halos have not been to the postseason since the 2014 season. They now hold the longest postseason drought across Major League Baseball.

However, they were involved in some moves this offseason that should address some problems the team has had. They acquired pitcher Grayson Rodriguez in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles, acquired Vaughn Grissom in a trade with the Boston Red Sox, and signed Kirby Yates on a one-year deal to likely be the club's closer in 2026.

Despite making these moves, they are still relatively far behind other MLB teams. Sure, they have Mike Trout, but that does not compare to the Los Angeles Dodgers, who have Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts, and Freddie Freeman, just to name a few.

They need to bring in more firepower and established stars, but with their playoff drought, that has been hard to do. And with their fast-tracking farm system, they do not have difference-makers waiting in the wings.

MLB.com just released their latest Power Rankings, and in it, they have the Angels finishing 29th, one place above the Colorado Rockies

"The Grayson Rodriguez trade was another sign that the Angels are always willing to try something, and they have to be relieved that they were able to restructure Anthony Rendon's contract. But all told, the Angels need a healthy and resurgent Mike Trout to have any chance, particularly with a surprisingly robust cadre of young hitters to spackle in around him."

While the Angels are trying, it just is not enough to keep up with some of the contending teams. Now, there have been surprises in this league before, but something magical would have to happen to see the Angels being relevant next season.
