Angels legend comes out of retirement for special baseball appearance in Anaheim image

Fans of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim had never cheered so loudly for a guy wearing bright yellow.

But on Friday night, Troy Glaus stepped to the plate rocking those colors.

The MVP of the 2002 World Series was back in Anaheim to make a special appearance with the Savannah Bananas, the sensational touring ballclub.

Glaus dug in, took a pitch up and in, and then yanked one through the left side for a single.

Glaus looked like a guy who wasn't quite sure how that would go.

He's 48 now, having last played in MLB in 2010. His last game with the Angels was in 2004 after seven years with Anaheim in which he slugged 182 home runs.

Glaus went on to play for the Blue Jays, Cardinals, Diamondbacks and Braves. All told, he hit 320 MLB homers.

The Savannah Bananas have made moves like this before. In Kansas City, they brought out Eric Hosmer for an appearance (he even pitched).

Glaus didn't need to do more than just swing the bat on Friday night, though. That's what the Angels fans remember him for, and it was only fitting that he found one more hit in a stadium he had become famous in.
