The Houston Astros have now entered the offseason after a disappointing 2025 season, in which they lost the lead in the AL West to the Seattle Mariners and missed the postseason.

Houston started the winter with a huge trade this week, trading utility man Mauricio Dubon to the Atlanta Braves in exchange for shortstop Nick Allen.

To conclude the week, news has struck for a large list of players that Houston tendered.

Astros tender contracts to 11 players, including Hunter Brown, Jeremy Pena, and more.

Although not having a set contract for the upcoming season, the Houston Astros tendered contracts to 11 players on Friday. The list includes RHP Bryan Abreu, IF Nick Allen, RHP Hunter Brown, C Yainer Diaz, OF Jake Meyers, LHP Steven Okert, IF Isaac Paredes, SS Jeremy Pena, OF Jesus Sanchez, LHP Bennett Sousa, and RHP Hayden Wesneski, Astros beat reporter Brian McTaggert announced.

Multiple players from this list have been rumored to receive long-term extensions from the Astros recently, but have yet to receive them. Hunter Brown, Jeremy Pena, and Isaac Paredes all put up impressive seasons in 2025, and it will be up to the franchise to determine what kind of deals can be made in the future.

Each player listed has been offered a one-year contract with the team for the upcoming season. This means they will be on the roster for another year and will avoid becoming a free agent.
