Justin Verlander grew into one of the best pitchers on the planet while playing for the Detroit Tigers.
Now, a reunion could be in the works.
The future Hall of Famer is a free agent after spending the 2025 season with the San Francisco Giants.
The Tigers could use another starter.
Plenty of people have already made the link that maybe this couple could get back together.
The latest to do so is MLB.com's Andrew Simon. In an article about finding the "perfect fits" for the remaining free agents, he pairs Verlander with the Tigers.
"We’re suckers for a nice late-career reunion, but Verlander also looked strong down the stretch, and a Tigers team with high hopes could stand to bolster the back of its rotation," Simon writes.

The Tigers' offseason will be defined by whether or not they trade superstar left-handed pitcher Tarik Skubal.
But almost in either outcome of that, Verlander could be helpful, either for added depth or to eat vacated innings.
Verlander will turn 43 in February, so he's certainly past the point that most pitchers keep doing this.
But he has also proven he wants to keep playing and that he can get the job done. The Tigers would benefit from bringing him back to town.
