The Colorado Rockies can't be picky in free agency.

On Monday, they landed a 26-year old infielder with a solid minor league track record but limited MLB experience.

That's Chad Stevens, who MLB Trade Rumors shared has signed a minor league deal with the Rockies.

Stevens is a 26-year old infielder originally from Walnut Creek, California.

He made it to pro ball initially as an 11th-round pick in 2021 out of the University of Portland, taken by the Houston Astros.

Stevens ascended to the majors in 2024 and 2025 in the Los Angeles Angeles of Anaheim organization.

He made his MLB debut this season, going 2-for-14, with one of the hits coming off Max Scherzer.

Stevens is a much more proven minor league hitter, with a career.755 OPS in the minors.

Just in Triple-A the last two seasons, Stevens has an.822 OPS with 18 homers and 22 steals in 148 games played.

He also can play all over the field.

In Triple-A in 2025, Stevens appeared in games at first base, second base, third base, left field, right field and shortstop.

In the majors with the Angels, he played both second base and third base.

The Rockies could give Stevens a chance in spring training to chase an MLB roster spot. He's got just enough track record to think he's got a shot at it.
