No matter how many times you watch, it still won't look real.

Colorado Rockies pitcher Seth Halvorsen lost control of the baseball on a pitch Wednesday night. And he threw it 102 miles per hour way behind Nationals batter Jacob Young.

Check it out, and then watch it again, and again, and see if it makes sense:

There's clearly no intent here. There's just one out left for the Rockies to get to win a tight game and push their winning streak to four.

Halvorsen wouldn't be messing around with some kind of message pitch in this spot.

It seems most likely he just simply lost the baseball entirely. Thankfully, he lost it so much that it flew way behind the hitter rather than at anyone's head.

Halvorsen is a promising young pitcher, and this will end up just as a footnote for his awesome career.

But on this night, it's hard to stop watching. Even slowing down the video, it's just trying to figure out what in the world actually happened here. Halvrosen did something no one has ever seen quite like it.
