The Colorado Rockies have largely struggled for the past seven seasons. They have not seen a winning record since the 2018 season, when they lost the NLDS to the Milwaukee Brewers

This past season was the worst the club has seen in the history of its organization. They finished the regular season by going 43-119, which was the worst record by far in 2025.

It can't get much worse for this team, right? Well, they have not exactly made a ton of moves this offseason, but they did hire Paul DePodesta as the newest president of baseball operations, so there's something.

Colorado has only brought in a handful of players, and none have been league-altering. They struck a one-year deal with Michael Lorenzen to lead a young group of pitchers. They also brought in Brennan Bernardino as a left-handed bullpen piece and Keegan Thompson as a right-handed bullpen option.

These are not the type of deals that will make Colorado much better for the 2026 season, but there is still time to sign some difference-makers. However, with what they have done up to this point, they sit in last place in MLB's latest Power Rankings

"The Rockies have a new leadership group, but the lack of actual moves to this point has left us without a lot of clarity just yet on what a new direction is actually going to look like. Still, a fresh set of eyes can't help but be a good thing. The goal for 2026 is simply forward progress -- however that may come about."

It will take a lot to turn this organization around, but with DePodesta in charge, things may finally be moving in the right direction. However, he surely has his work cut out for him.
