The Chicago White Sox are staying busy.

On Thursday, they completed a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays.

The White Sox announced the move, that they'll be receiving outfielder Tristan Peters in exchange for either cash or a player to be named later.

Peters is a 25-year old outfielder, both a lefty hitter and a lefty thrower.

He made his MLB debut this past season for Tampa Bay, going 0-for-12 across four games.

Peters was much better in his larger sample size at Triple-A Durham. He batted.266 with a.784 OPS, including 28 doubles, three triples, 15 homers and 11 stolen bases.

He was originally a seventh-round pick by the Milwaukee Brewers int he 2021 MLB Draft out of Southern Illinois-Carbondale.

Peters has also spent time in the San Francisco Giants' system.

He has a solid eye at the plate, with three separate seasons that include at least 60 walks at the minor league level.

The White Sox appear to be a team on the rise, and Peters should be a solid player on the fringes of the MLB roster who can be moved up and down to contribute as needed.

In all four of his games with the Rays, Peters played centerfield, which suggests he's viewed as a solid defensive outfielder, another great trait to have.

He probably won't be a star, but he's a good player for the White Sox to acquire as they move back toward contention.
