Soon-to-be free agent Kyle Tucker is going to be the biggest name in MLB free agency once the new year period opens shortly after the World Series concludes. The current Chicago Cubs outfielder is not expected to re-sign with the team and will be available for all the big spenders to go after.
Tucker is 28, and although he slumped for a portion of the 2025 season, he still finished with 133 hits, 22 home runs, and 73 runs batted in. Recently, he received a massive contract prediction that would put him among the highest-paid players in MLB.
Kyle Tucker's market value is predicted to be $350 million
In a recent Bleacher Report predictions piece by writer Joel Reuter, Kyle Tucker's contract prediction is 10 years, $350 million:
Predicted Contract: 10 years, $350 million
"This would be the fifth-largest contract ever given to an outfielder, and only Juan Soto ($51 million), Aaron Judge ($40 million) and Mike Trout ($35.5 million) clock in with a higher AAV on their deals."
Some of the teams rumored to be in on Kyle Tucker are the San Francisco Giants, Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Mets, and potentially the New York Yankees. Any team that is willing to open up the checkbook is in play for the 28-year-old outfielder.
Despite the slight down season, Tucker's accolades speak for themselves. He is a four-time All-Star, a silver slugger and gold glove winner, and helped the Houston Astros win the 2022 World Series.
The Kyle Tucker sweepstakes will be one of the biggest MLB storylines to follow this offseason.
