Rockies deny Kris Bryant a sentimental Cubs moment image

The Chicago Cubs held a private gathering as part of a 10-year celebration of their 2016 World Series championship.

The guy who fielded the game's final out, Kris Bryant, wasn't there.

According to The Score Chicago, Bryant was denied being allowed to go to the event by his current team, the Colorado Rockies.

The report also indicates that active players like Javier Baez and Kyle Schwarber were there. So seemingly it was just Bryant denied the chance.

It appears the Rockies had some kind of adjudication over this because it was taking place in alignment with the annual offseason convention put on by the current Cubs.

Most teams hold those offseason gatherings now, and some fans in the comments made the point that it would be odd to have a player from one team at another player's convention.

But it does appear there was also time just for the 2016 team, which seems like Bryant could've been at with no issue.

Besides, Bryant isn't exactly contributing much to Colorado now. Crushing injuries have pretty much put his career into neutral.

But he was once a Cubs superstar, and he fielded the groundball for that final out before firing across to Anthony Rizzo to break an 108-year curse. Chicago fans won't ever forget that.
