Pete Crow-Armstrong and the Chicago Cubs have come out with something to prove this year. While not making the postseason since the 2020 season, they clinched their spot last week with a win over the Pittsburgh Pirates

While the Cubs could not catch the Milwaukee Brewers, who hold sole possession of the National League Central, they will be one of the Wild Card teams. They currently hold the top Wild Card seed in the NL, which would set them up nicely for the postseason.

However, PCA had more things on his mind than the postseason. Coming into Friday's game against the St. Louis Cardinals, he was just one home run away from joining the 30-30 club.

Pete Crow-Armstrong joins historic 30-30 club with big blast on Friday

With his team up one run in the fourth inning and a runner on first, Pete Crow-Armstrong stepped up to the plate. Facing Miles Mikolas, he sent a hanging offspeed pitch well into the bleachers in right field for his 30th home run of the season. He now has 30 home runs and 35 stolen bases.

PCA is now one of the handful of players who have joined the 30-30 club at age 23 or younger. Others on this list include names like Bobby Witt Jr., Julio Rodriguez, Ronald Acuna Jr., and Mike Trout, to name a few.

He will be a key component in determining how well the Cubs perform in the postseason. If he can continue to carry this momentum and the team can get Kyle Tucker going, they will be the ones to watch in October.
