The Chicago Cubs will enter the postseason with an opportunity to win a World Series if everything breaks their way. It was an impressive first half for the Cubs, but the second half of the campaign certainly didn't go the way that many were expecting it to.
Nonetheless, the Cubs have made the postseason, and with about a week remaining in the regular season, they’ll have an opportunity to play spoiler against the New York Mets.
It'll be interesting to see the direction that the Cubs go over the next few days, but the hope is for Kyle Tucker to return eventually, which is more important than anything else.
Cubs get Kyle Tucker update
It remains uncertain when Tucker will return, but according to RotoWire, it appears that could happen at some point this week. Tucker has made progress in his rehab, running on Monday.
“Cubs president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer said Tuesday that Tucker (calf) did some running Monday and has returned to Chicago after rehabbing in Florida, 670 The Score reports.
“Hoyer added that Tucker is "moving in the right direction" and he hopes the outfielder can return to the active roster "for a few games" before the end of the regular season. Tucker has been out for most of September with a left calf strain and has struggled to make positive strides with his recovery. His return doesn't appear imminent, and if Tucker does make it back later this week, it will likely be in a limited capacity,” RotoWire Staff wrote.

Prior to going down with an injury, there had been parts throughout Tucker's second half where he didn't swing the bat at the level he typically does.
However, he’s still hitting .270 on the year with 22 home runs.
Given what he's done throughout much of his career, he'll be needed in the Cubs lineup come October.
