Roman Anthony delivered on the hype almost immediately.
He was the No. 1 prospect in all of baseball when the Boston Red Sox called him up this season, and he looked like it in the majors, too.
Anthony played in 71 games after his call-up and batted .292 with a .396 on-base percentage, .463 slugging average, .859 OPS and 18 doubles, eight homers and 32 RBI.

Will Roman Anthony be back for the playoffs?
Anthony isn't ruled out for the entirety of the playoffs, but he's not back for the Wild Card games against the Yankees.
According to MassLive, Anthony is at the Red Sox complex in Fort Myers continuing to rehab.
‘We have a really good staff down there and my goal is to worry about getting back on the field as soon as I can," Anthony said, via MassLive. “That’s the plan and I’m good with it.”
Fellow rookie Marcelo Mayer is also in Fort Myers with Anthony, although Mayer is believed to be legitimately done for the season with his injury.
