The Boston Red Sox may have to have another difficult conversation with Rafael Devers.

About three months after the Red Sox had to tell Devers he'd be moving off third base to DH in favor of Alex Bregman at the hot corner, Bregman is injured.

He left Friday's afternoon game with a lower-body injury sustained while rounding first base. It's not yet clear how long Bregman will be out.

But if it's an extended absence, Boston will have to see if Devers will return to his defensive position.

Devers already opted not to take up first base after a season-ending injury to Triston Casas.

But if Bregman joins Casas on the Injured List, the Red Sox will be missing both of their corner infield sluggers.

After the injury, the local NESN broadcast showed Devers every 45 seconds or show, sitting on the bench while waiting for his next at bat at DH.

The broadcast team speculated that it'd be hard for Boston to leave Devers at DH now, if both corner spots are open.

Devers was clearly ticked that he had his third base glove taken away from him.

He's not a great third baseman, but it's a spot he can handle.

If Bregman is out, Devers may have no choice.
