Red Sox trade proposal lands another star, but it wouldn’t fix the Alex Bregman issue image

The Boston Red Sox have had an interesting offseason, and have certainly gotten better in some areas, but after losing Alex Bregman, it's almost tough to say that Red Sox fans should be happy with what's happened.

There's still plenty of time to make Boston happy from the front office's perspective, and a trade for someone like Freddy Peralta of the Milwaukee Brewers would at least do that.

Jay Staph of Just Baseball suggested the Red Sox could acquire Peralta in a deal that sends  Payton Tolle and David Sandlin to Milwaukee. He obviously doesn't fix everything after losing Bregman, but Peralta is an ace and would be welcomed in Boston.

“So far this winter, the Boston Red Sox have remained a fairly active team, as they’ve looked to primarily address their rotation and have added Willson Contreras. They’ve done a lot to address the first point, but still lack the one final piece to push their rotation over the hill...

“However, with the team’s fifth starter currently projected to be Patrick Sandoval, this team could really use one final front-end arm to push them into World Series contender territory. Freddy Peralta is the perfect option here, as he allows their rotation to have a lot more flexibility as well,” he wrote

Boston’s rotation has depth, but depth only goes so far when October arrives. Peralta would give them a guy who could come in and be the clear No. 2 behind Garrett Crochet.

I understand why the Red Sox might not want to give up a ton to get him, but as they saw with Crochet a year ago, trading for guys who are some of the best in baseball typically works out.
