The Boston Red Sox got taller on Tuesday.
They've signed a pitcher who checks in at 6-foot-6 and 230 pounds.
The new guy: Patrick Halligan.
His signing was reported by Andrew Parker of SoxProspects.com.
Halligan most recently was in the Houston Astros' system after beginning 2025 as an Atlanta Braves' farmhand.

Halligan had a 3.48 ERA in 35 appearances at Double-A Corpus Christi.
He also made four appearances at Triple-A Sugar Land and had an 11.57 ERA in the small sample.
Halligan originally entered pro baseball as a 13th-round draft pick in 2021 by the Kansas City Royals out of Pensacola State College.
He's now 26 years old.

Halligan's career minor league ERA is 4.34, with 130 of his 146 appearances coming out of the bullpen.
Halligan has struck out 9.6 batters per nine innings in his pro career.
He is playing this winter in the Puerto Rican Winter League for Mayaguez. He has a 2.82 ERA there with 12.1 strikeouts per nine innings.
Halligan won't be favored to make the Red Sox, but he clearly has a few traits going for him, and Boston will see if they can develop him the rest of the way.
