The Boston Red Sox are struggling. They have fallen to 40-42 on the season thanks to a five-game losing streak.
They are only 2 1/2 games back in the American League Wild Card race, but they need to find a way to turn their season around after trading Rafael Devers.
Boston will need a bat at the trade deadline if they hope to be a contender down the stretch. They could use somebody who can play a little first base with Triston Casas on the shelf.
FanSided's Cody Williams proposed the idea of Boston trading for Baltimore Orioles slugger Ryan O'Hearn.
"Perhaps the most heavily discussed trade target for the Red Sox comes from the division with Orioles first baseman and DH Ryan O'Hearn. The 31-year-old left-handed bat is having by far the best season of his career, with his best mark prior to this season in terms of OPS sitting at .801 in 2023, which he's currently 73 points above right now," Williams wrote.

O'Hearn is putting together a strong season with the Orioles. He is hitting .301/.384/.485 with 11 home runs, 30 RBI and an .869 OPS.
The 31-year-old is a free agent at the end of the year, and with his recent surge, he brings a ton of trade value.
This means if Boston wants to acquire him, they'll have to cough up some prospects, and they have the prospect capital to make a deal such as this work.
O'Hearn provides power from the left side of the plate and can also fill in at first base with Casas out for the season. He can even play a little outfield if necessary.
It will be interesting to see how Boston approaches the deadline. Trades within the same division are rare, but Baltimore is out of contention, while Boston still has a shot.
