Alex Bregman hit what looked like it might be a double to deep left at Fenway Park on Friday afternoon.
But rounding first, he appeared to feel a tweak in his lower half, and he put on the brakes and limped back to first.
Bregman was calling for attention from the Red Sox dugout before he had even arrived back at the base.
Almost immediately, he strolled into the Boston dugout, down the steps and out of the game.

It's a terrible moment for the Red Sox, which are already without first baseman Triston Casas for the rest of the season.
Bregman has been Boston's best hitter this season.
His absence could result in speculation about a Rafael Devers return to third base, but that'll be a conversation for later, once the Red Sox figure out what's going on with Bregman.
For now, Boston fans are just crossing their fingers for the best.
