Ceddanne Rafaela had more than one fanbase cheering for him on Friday night.

The clear and obvious supporters, of course, were the Boston Red Sox faithful at Fenway Park.

And when Rafaela delivered a walk-off triple off the centerfield fence in the bottom of the ninth against the Detroit Tigers, it started a party at Fenway. The Red Sox had clinched a playoff spot.

But this was also a crucial swing in the AL Central Division race.

The Tigers entered the night tied on record with the Cleveland Guardians, but it's the Guards who hold the tiebreaker.

Cleveland had a rough night, falling behind 4-0 to the Texas Rangers in the top of the first inning and never coming back.

So as the Guardians were in their final inning, failing to score the necessary runs in a 7-2 defeat, the Red Sox and Tigers were tied 3-3.

That is, until the little scoreboard spot for that game updated to say Red Sox 4, Tigers 3, final.

That kept the Tigers on the same record as the Guardians, meaning that with two games to play, Cleveland remains in first place on the tiebreaker.

There's still work to be done, but if the Guardians get into the postseason, they have Rafaela to thank.

Rafaela, of course, was plenty happy to do it, because it meant the Red Sox got to party, too.
