The 2025 season was not one that many Baltimore Orioles fans will want to remember. While building up some hype over the offseason, the team struggled to get anything going.

This led to the club parting ways with manager Brandon Hyde and eventually going with Craig Albernaz for the 2026 season and beyond. But he will surely have his work cut out for him.

Playing in the same division as teams like the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Toronto Blue Jays, the club will need all the help they can get. Luckily, they have been pretty busy over the offseason filling holes.

Baltimore has come out as one of the most aggressive teams so far this offseason. Instead of like some other teams waiting to see how the market plays out, the Orioles were the ones setting the market.

They have made a few trades so far. One being with the Los Angeles Angels to acquire Taylor Ward and the other being with the Tampa Bay Rays to acquire Shane Baz. They also got deals done with Zach Eflin, Ryan Helsley, Leody Taveras, and Pete Alonso.

However, the club may not be done adding pieces. They could still use another frontline starter to really bolster their starting rotation. Luckily for them, there are names like Framber Valdez and Ranger Suarez still looking for their next opportunity.

MLB.com's Mark Feinsand believes Baltimore could be in play to sign Suarez, alongside the New York Mets.

"Like Valdez, Suarez has been linked to the Mets and Orioles throughout the winter, which is hardly a surprise given their respective needs for starting pitching. But Suarez is two years younger than Valdez, making him a more appealing option for potential suitors."

Baltimore is still connected to Valdez, but they are also still connected to Suarez. Feinsand states that Suarez is slightly younger than Valdez, making him a more intriguing option, but going with either would surely shore up the rotation in Baltimore.
