The Baltimore Orioles have made a ton of noise so far through the offseason. The first thing they did was hire Craig Albernaz as their newest manager moving forward.

After that, they traded oft-injured pitcher Grayson Rodriguez to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for Taylor Ward. This was a move that shocked many, but the front office likely viewed Ward's contributions for the 2026 season over Rodriguez's potential.

More recently, they added reinforcements to their bullpen by signing Ryan Helsley. The two sides agreed to a two-year, $28 million contract, and it is unlikely that the Orioles are done making moves after that.

One name that has been coming up a lot in trade rumors has been Ryan Mountcastle. Mountcastle held down first base this past season, but his time in Baltimore could be coming to a close.

ESPN's Jeff Passan adds to the rampant trade rumors, listing him as a player to watch closely.

One reason that Mountcastle is viewed as a trade chip is because of Baltimore's depth. They have Coby Mayo and Sam Basallo with the ability to hold down first base.

Trading him could also open up some financial flexibility for the club to bring in someone else during the offseason.

Fans will want to pay close attention to this as the weeks go on. The New York Mets are certainly a team that could be interested in acquiring Mouncastle if Pete Alonso signs elsewhere, but they are not the only ones.

The Pittsburgh Pirates are looking to take the next step over the offseason and are looking to make offensive upgrades to help out Paul Skenes.

Fans may also want to pay attention to the Boston Red Sox, who may not be sold on their future at the position.
