The Baltimore Orioles have been one of the busier teams this offseason so far. They have made multiple moves to help fill holes and change their outlook for the 2026 season.

They acquired Taylor Ward in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels and also signed Ryan Helsley to help bolster their bullpen. However, their biggest signing came when they signed Pete Alonso to a five-year deal.

Most recently, they were involved in a trade with the Tampa Rays where they acquired Shane Baz in exchange for Slater De Brun, Caden Bodine, Michael Forret, Austin Overn, and a Competitive Balance Round A pick.

Baltimore is reportedly not done making moves yet. They still have an interest in obtaining another piece for their bullpen.

According to Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Baltimore has shown interest in St. Louis Cardinals reliever JoJo Romero.

Romero is coming off a season where he appeared in 65 games, holding together a career-low 2.07 ERA with eight saves to his name. He was relied upon in high-leverage spots and was able to come through for his team on numerous occasions.

However, Baltimore is not the only team interested in acquiring Romero in a trade. The Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees are other teams that have shown interest.

These clubs are looking to add another left-handed option in their bullpen, with the options on the open market starting to dwindle. With not many free agent options, some of these teams are turning to see what could be available on the trade market.

Adding Romero to Baltimore's bullpen would be a huge asset. He could help the team in high-leverage situations or play matchup, eventually getting the ball to Ryan Helsley in the ninth inning to potentially shut the door.
