This offseason has been a very busy one for the Baltimore Orioles, and they've been adding a ton of talent both in the lineup and in the pitching staff.
But one area of the roster that's all but completely set is the lineup. After signing Pete Alonso and trading for Taylor Ward, the Orioles don't have a dire need for the lineup.
But the Orioles could use some extra depth. According to Ari Alexander of 7 News, the Orioles are claiming a former Philadelphia Phillies utilityman to join the Major League roster in Baltimore.
Orioles claim former Phillies utilityman
"Source: UTIL Weston Wilson has been claimed off waivers by the Orioles," Alexander reports. "Source: Orioles DFA LHP Jose Suarez to clear space for Wilson claim."
Wilson was cut by the Phillies after they signed J.T. Realmuto, and Wilson went on waivers. He didn't make it through, as the Orioles put in a claim, and now bring the veteran utilityman to their MLB roster.

The 31-year-old has played in three seasons for the Phillies, which included his first MLB at-bat being a home run. Wilson has put up 0.4 bWAR in three seasons with the Phillies across 100 games.
This past season in 52 games, he hit.198 with a.652 OPS. But in 2024, he had a.284 average with an.836 OPS in 40 games.
Wilson can play in the outfield or the infield for the Orioles. He's not the biggest addition this offseason, but the right-handed slugging utilityman is a solid pickup for the Orioles depth.
