Hot stove season is officially here in Major League Baseball. Now that the season has concluded, it's time for MLB organizations to start thinking about what player transactions they want to make.

For the Baltimore Orioles, Mike Elias will be looking to make amends this offseason after a disappointing 2025 campaign, where pitching was a clear issue.

Wild trade idea sends Bryan Abreu to the Orioles, and Steven Kwan to Houston

It's prediction season in MLB, and Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller wasted no time in curating a 'Wild' three-team trade:

"Baltimore Orioles Receive: RHP Bryan Abreu (from HOU) Houston Astros Receive: LF Steven Kwan (from CLE) Cleveland Guardians Receive: OF Dylan Beavers (from BAL), OF Jacob Melton (from HOU) and RHP Spencer Arrighetti (from HOU)"

For the Houston Astros, they'd be giving up potentially their top reliever in Bryan Abreu. The main components of this hypothetical deal are Steven Kwan moving to Houston, and the Orioles receiving some much-needed bullpen help.

Kwan was just awarded another Gold Glove and is a two-time All-Star. Abreu has been one of the game's best relievers since 2022. In 71 innings pitched this season, Abreu posted a 2.28 ERA with 105 strikeouts. He also finished the 2025 season with seven saves after Josh Hader went down in September with an injury.

There have only been 3 three-team trades in the last three years in MLB, but the Orioles should certainly be thinking about getting a bullpen arm in some capacity because Felix Bautista may miss the entirety of the 2026 season.
