When it comes to the offseason, it's hard not to mention what the Baltimore Orioles have done so far. After a lackluster 2025 season, they have made multiple high-profile moves that should help the team perform in 2026.
They re-signed Zach Eflin to a one-year deal and acquired Shane Baz in a trade with the Tampa Bay Rays to help bolster the starting rotation. They also struck a deal with Ryan Helsley to help close out games for the team this upcoming season, but that was not all.
They also acquired Taylor Ward in a trade with the Los Angeles Angels, but their biggest move of the offseason came recently when they signed Pete Alonso to a five-year deal, bringing in a whole new level of power for Baltimore, along with the exciting core that is returning.

Orioles are winning the winter after a busy string of offseason moves
It will be tough for this team to play any worse than they did in 2025, especially with the recent additions. They have put themselves in a great position to fight in the AL East.
Despite the additions, some are still wary of the club's outlook. Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer explains they are not just a team surrounded by hype.
"Even after all they've done, the Orioles still feel underrated heading into 2026. They actually project for more WAR than several 2025 playoff teams, including the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies, and Boston Red Sox."
The Orioles will be a team that fans will want to keep an eye on, especially with the quiet offseason the New York Yankees have had so far. However, the Red Sox certainly jumped up a few spots in their 2026 outlook after they secured a five-year deal with Ranger Suarez on Wednesday.
