Despite being one of the best players on one of the best teams in Major League Baseball, Chicago Cubs star Pete Crow-Armstrong took the time to thank those around him.

The Cubs are leading the National League Central division heading into the All-Star break, with Crow-Armstrong playing a major role on the team. The 23-year-old is slashing .265/.302/.847 with 25 home runs and 71 RBIs before the break in only his second full season in the big leagues, earning himself his first All-Star nod.

Despite being such a prolific player, Crow-Armstrong walked into a meeting of Wrigley Field ushers and security to thank them for all they do, according to Chicago Tribune columnist Paul Sullivan

“You guys go through the same 162-game season we do, in a way,” Crow-Armstrong told the employees. “You do so much for us in terms of our families and people that matter to me and my teammates. First and foremost, that’s one of the more important things I recognize when we think about you guys and the work that you do."

"And I know it’s been so hot recently, and I just appreciate you guys on a daily basis being out there with us, and doing a lot of work … You guys are the best.”

Crow-Armstrong displayed wisdom beyond his years, showing his appreciation to the Wrigley Field staff members. All of the staffing required to put on such events is immense, given how often the Cubs play at Wrigley Field. Seeing Crow-Armstrong take the time to thank those around him shows his character is as good as his baseball abilities.
