Following a dramatic and disappointing 2025 season, the Atlanta Braves are headed into the offseason looking to find new pieces to the puzzle and get back into contention for a World Series title.

Atlanta will most likely have to replace designated hitter Marcell Ozuna and starting pitchers Charlie Morton and Raisiel Iglesias as each of them elected to test out free agency.

To begin a new year of Braves baseball, the team picked up two relief pitchers off waivers.

Braves claim RHP Carson Ragsdale, LHP Josh Walker off waivers from Orioles

Baltimore Orioles insider Jake Rill announced on Thursday that right-handed pitcher Carson Ragsdale and left-handed pitcher Josh Walker were claimed off waivers by the Atlanta Braves.

Ragsdale, 27, was a rookie in 2025 and appeared in two games for the Orioles last season. In the 5.0 innings he pitched, there wasn't much success for him, finishing with a 14.40 ERA and 2.20 WHIP.

Walker, 30, has a little bit more experience in the big leagues. The New York native never appeared in a game for the Orioles last season, but has appeared in 27 games over the past three seasons with the New York Mets and Toronto Blue Jays. His career stats include a 6.59 ERA, 2.00 WHIP, and 31 strikeouts over 27.1 innings.

Both Ragsdale and Walker will most likely begin their stints with the Braves in the minor leagues.
