The Atlanta Braves are making some moves this winter to try and get back to the postseason after a down 2025 season. While they haven't made any big outside splash signings or trades, they have made a couple of smaller roster moves.
On Friday afternoon, before the Winter Meetings kick off in a few days, the Braves announced two waiver claims and one player designated for assignment.
The Braves' three roster moves involve claims of a former Colorado Rockies, and a former Athletics pitcher. To make room for both of those additions, they released a lefty pitcher from the 40-man roster.
Braves make two waiver claims, one DFA amid trio of roster moves
"The Braves today claimed RHP Osvaldo Bido off waivers from the Athletics and RHP Anthony Molina off waivers from the Colorado Rockies. To make room on the 40-man roster, the club designated LHP Josh Walker for assignment."
This announcement from the Braves involved the acquisition of two right-handed pitchers and the release of a left-hander in Walker.
Molina is 23 years old and coming off 17 appearances for the Rockies in 2025. In those outings, he posted a 7.27 ERA with 12 home runs allowed, 24 strikeouts, and six walks in 34.2 innings pitched.

Bido is 30 years old and coming off a 26-game season for the Athletics in 2025. Of his 26 games, 10 were as a starter, while seven were to close out a game. He had a 5.87 ERA with 68 strikeouts, 35 walks, and 19 home runs allowed in 79.2 innings pitched.
While his 2025 was a struggle, Bido had a solid 3.41 ERA in 2024 for the Athletics in 16 appearances and across 63.1 innings pitched.
To make room for Bido and Molina, the Braves cut ties with Walker. He's 31 years old and pitched for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2025, appearing in three games, posting a 7.20 ERA for Toronto.
Bido is older than Molina, but is a much more interesting waiver claim. The former Athletics reliever could be an interesting option for Atlanta this upcoming season, as if he returns to his 2024 form, he could be a quality option out of the bullpen.
