Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte

Imagine thinking that the Arizona Diamondbacks would be willing to trade their All-Star second baseman Ketel Marte.

That sounded like an insane idea just one season ago, but it may now be coming to fruition sooner rather than later. According to MLB Network's Jon Morosi, Arizona is "actively listening" to trade offers surrounding Marte.

Morosi also reportedly that among the teams that have checked in with the Diamondbacks are the Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays. Two of baseball's best teams last season are actively looking to improve their teams.

Most of the baseball world is aware of how much of an impact Marte makes when he's on the field. Marte is a three-time All-Star, back-to-back Silver Slugger winner and has finished Top 5 in MVP voting twice in his career.

Both Toronto and Philadelphia got solid production from its second basemen in 2025, as they ranked 11th and 13th respectively in Wins Above Average from second basemen. Obviously, though, each club feels that upgrades could be made and what better place to start than arguably the best second baseman in all of baseball.

A return haul for Marte, who has five seasons at minimum remaining on his contract, would be other-worldly and it'll be interesting to see what any team has to give up in making a deal happen.
