The 2025 U.S. Open is being held at Oakmont Country Club near Pittsburgh. It is a beautiful course and is one of the most challenging that the competitors will play all year.
The Oakmont Country Club has hosted the U.S. Open before and is set to host the event every seven years for the foreseeable future. The potential issue with trusting a location as close to Pittsburgh as Oakmont is situated, there is a high chance of rain or storms. Pittsburgh averages 154 days of rain per year, which ranks as the eighth-most in the country.
The first round of the 2025 U.S. Open went off without a hitch. The second, third and fourth rounds of action weren't so lucky. Here's what you need to know.

3:50 p.m.: It seems a matter of when, not if, a weather delay will take place. After all, this isn't the most promising sight; a flash flood warning is in effect until 6:30 p.m. ET across much of the Pittsburgh area, including Plum, Oakmont's hometown.

3:35 p.m.: Storm clouds continue to loom over Oakmont as the fourth round gets underway. The first four holes went off without a hitch. But based on the way the sky looks, that won't be the case for long. Pittsburgh's WTAE claims there is a 63 percent chance that rain will descend upon the hollowed ground. It would keep in line with the weather that's taken place throughout the weekend.
