Scottie Scheffler continues red hot run: How golfer joined Tiger Woods in record books with win at the Memorial image

Scottie Scheffler cannot be stopped right now.

The current world No. 1 added yet another victory to his stretch of dominance on Sunday, winning the Memorial Tournament in Ohio for the second consecutive year with a score of 10-under par.

Not long after winning the 2025 PGA Championship, Scheffler was as consistent and thorough as ever at the Memorial, winning the event by four strokes.

Here's a look at Scheffler's victory at the Memorial and how he made history with it.

Scottie Scheffler successfully defends Memorial title

Scheffler's 16th career PGA Tour win was never far out of reach, as the star golfer began with 2-under 70s in Rounds 1 and 2 to put himself among the leaders. And he only got better from there, posting a score of 66 on the 72-par course in the third round, then closing it out with relative ease on Sunday.

Scheffler finished with just one double bogey and four bogies, three of which came in the first two rounds, along with 16 birdies. Remarkably, he continues to recover well after his bogies.

Scheffler, who won his second consecutive Memorial Tournament, has now finished in third or higher at the event in each of the last four years.

Scheffler also had the respect of his competitors at the tournament, with Jordan Spieth calling him "elite."

“It’s maybe the best there’s ever been as far as clubface control," Spieth said.

Scottie Scheffler joins Tiger Woods in record books

Scheffler joined a club of just one other golfer with his 2025 Memorial victory. Only Tiger Woods had ever successfully defended the Memorial title and gone back-to-back at the tournament. Now, Scheffler is on that very short list.

Sunday marked the third time in Scheffler's career that he had successfully defended a title on the PGA Tour, doing so at the 2023 WM Phoenix Open and the 2024 Players Championship as well. Only two golfers have defended a title more times in their career: Phil Mickelson (5) and Woods (23), per Justin Ray.

Scottie Scheffler 2025 results

Scheffler's latest stretch of seven tournaments has been outstanding. While he had just one top-three finish to begin the 2025 PGA season, which happened at The Genesis Invitational, he's since been on a tear.

In fact, Scheffler has the same number of wins as the Colorado Rockies baseball team has since May 2.

Going back to the Texas Children's Houston Open on March 30, Scheffler's worst finish is a tie for eighth. He had three victories over that seven-tournament stretch, including Sunday's Memorial win.

To cap things off, he's won nearly $10M over the last 30 days.
