Scheffler entered the day four-back of MacIntyre for first place, and he immediately erased the deficit as MacIntyre faltered on the first few holes. Ultimately, Scheffler shot a three-under 67 while MacIntyre produced a three-over 73, as Scheffler won the event by two shots.

It wasn't Scheffler's best day, as he wasted several opportunities, including on hole No. 16 when he three-putted for bogey. However, he more than salvaged the day with six birdies, especially with two on the final four holes.

Scottie Scheffler caddie this week

Scheffler has been playing this week without his usual caddie, Ted Scott, who is dealing with a family emergency. In Scott's place, Scheffler is working with Michael Cromie, who usually caddies for Chris Kirk.

Kirk finished 51st in the FedEx Cup standings last week, making him ineligible for the BMW Championship. Therefore, Cromie was free to temporarily switch sides.

"Mike's a great guy," Scheffler said, via ESPN. "He works really hard. He does a good job and we're both learning a new golf course this week."
