The LIV Golf circuit made a major deal this week.
Brooks Koepka, who a month ago saw his 54-hole lead at the Masters Tournament evaporate in the final round, earned LIV Golf its first major victory on Sunday. He won the 2023 PGA Championship with a 72-hole score of 9 under par, beating Scottie Scheffler and Viktor Hovland, who finished tied for second at 7 under.

Keopka wasn't the only LIV Golfer to have a strong showing at Oak Hill Country Club. Eleven of 16 LIV players in the field made the cut in Rochester, N.Y., with five finishing inside the top 20. Two players — Bryson DeChambeau and Cameron Smith — finished inside the top 10 in their quest for the Wanamaker Trophy.

It was a strong week overall for the controversial circuit, and certainly a palate cleanser for LIV after Koepka and Phil Mickelson finished tied for second in Augusta.

Eighteen LIV Golf players were eligible for the PGA Championship, and 16 played. Martin Kaymer went out with a wrist injury. Paul Casey withdrew because of a foot issue.
