Competition makes for strange bedfellows.
LIV Golf made its Masters debut this year, marking the first time that golfers signed to the upstart circuit make their appearance in Augusta under the LIV banner. However, it's not the first time that a LIV golfer has appeared in one of golf's major tournaments.

In 2022, LIV players were allowed to play in The Open Championship, with Dustin Johnson making the PGA Tour and its players sweat with a seventh-place finish. Bryson DeChambeau and Ian Poulter, two other LIV defectors, both finished in the top 25 at the Open as well.
LIV Golf had another opportunity to prove they're more than just an exhibition and retirement circuit when its most notable golfers take the course in Augusta, and they had a good group with which to do it.

Eighteen LIV Golf players began play at the Masters this year, six of whom are past Masters champions. One of the 18, Kevin Na, dropped out after playing just nine holes, citing illness, and Louis Oosthuizen opted not to return Saturday after the Round 2 weather delay. He withdrew with an unspecified injury but was set to miss the cut at 7 over.
By the end of Round 2, Brooks Koepka remained in first place at 12 under par, continuing his impressive play at Augusta, and 12 LIV players remained for the final two rounds after the late cut-line shift gave Charl Schwartzel and Thomas Pieters a reprieve.
