FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup 2019: Where, when, roster, how to watch Team Canada image

The FIBA Men's Basketball World Cup 2019 is fast approaching, and Canada enters the tournament with hopes of making the podium.

Head coach Nick Nurse has taken the reins of the deepest pool of men's basketball players the country has ever produced, with a goal of putting the rest of the world on notice. The Canadians are in a tough Group H alongside Australia, Lithuania and Senegal, but Nurse is still confident that his team can handle the group stages and advance to the final round.

Of course, Nurse's job would've been much easier if he had access to all of the country's top players. Like many of the other nations taking part in the World Cup, Canada has seen several of its top stars drop out of contention due to injury or other reasons, leaving the overwhelming majority of the team to come from clubs outside the NBA.

With stars like Jamal Murray, R.J. Barret, Kelly Olynyk, Tristan Thompson, Andrew Wiggins and more staying home, Nurse will get an up-close look at Canada's depth as the team attempts to qualify for its first World Cup since 2010.
