Today's Daily Fantasy Baseball Rankings: Best starting pitchers, streamers for Tuesday, May 28 image

FanDuel is hosting a 15-game main MLB DFS slate while DraftKings isn't including the Pirates-Reds and Padres-Yankees games on Tuesday, but regardless of which site you're playing, the pitching options are plentiful. Today's starting pitcher rankings don't have a lot of top-shelf talent, but there are some interesting value sleepers with favorable matchups and a few contrarian picks that many will likely be fading in daily fantasy baseball contests.

A couple of those potential values, Marco Gonzales (vs. Rangers) and Eric Lauer (@ Yankees), have the splits in their favor, as both the Rangers and Yankees aren't nearly as strong against lefthanded pitchers. We know both have dangerous offenses, though, so Gonzales and Lauer remain risky picks. Conversely, Frankie Montas (vs. Angels) is facing a so-so Angels offense that hits well against righthanders. Given his high price, he looks like a fade. Max Fried (vs. Nationals) is in a similar spot, but he's not priced nearly as high.

Given his talent and matchup, David Price (vs. Indians) is priced very affordably and will likely be in a lot of lineups. Both pitchers in the Giants-Marlins game lack high-end ceilings, but Trevor Richards (vs. Giants) and Jeff Samardzija (@ Marlins) can both put up big numbers at cheap prices. Expect to see one as an SP2 in a lot of DK contests.

Padres-Yankees, Cardinals-Phillies, and Indians-Red Sox are all in danger of weather-related delays, so check with the Fantasy Alarm Weather Center closer to lineup lock.

wRC+ is defined by Fangraphs as "[measuring] how a player’s wRC compares with league average after controlling for park effects. League average for position players is 100, and every point above 100 is a percentage point above league average. For example, a 125 wRC+ means a player created 25% more runs than a league average hitter would have in the same number of plate appearances. Similarly, every point below 100 is a percentage point below league average, so a 80 wRC+ means a player created 20% fewer runs than league average." For more on the stat, click here.
