Fantasy Kicker Rankings Week 3: Who to start, sit at kicker in fantasy football image

There are a couple ways to view the kicker position after the first couple games of the season. Option A: If your kicker has had a pair of subpar performances, then he's probably due for a good one. Option B: If your kicker has had a pair of mediocre outings, then he's no good and you need a new one. There's also Option C: He could be due for some bad ones if he's had two good games, but let's be honest -- no one thinks like that. Regardless of where you are with your kicker, you might be checking our Week 3 fantasy kicker rankings to get ideas for potential pickups or reassurance you should stick with your starter.

Ultimately, we don't really know either. (Sorry, it's a stupid position...what do you want from us?) We're still largely ranking these guys based off reputation. Oh, sure, we like what we've seen from Graham Gano, Dustin Hopkins, and Nick Folk, among others, but it's been two games -- who knows if it's legit? It's also a little too early to definitively say which defenses will continue giving up points, particularly fantasy points to kickers.

WEEK 3 STANDARD RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST

Because of that, we're still looking for reliable, proven kickers on good offenses. If they're playing indoors (Justin Tucker @ Detroit, Jason Myers @ Minnesota, Jason Sanders @ Vegas, Ryan Succop @ Rams, Daniel Carlson vs. Miami, Greg Zuerlein vs. Philadelphia, Jake Elliott @ Dallas), then all the better. We also give Brandon McManus (vs. Jets) his customary "thin air" home bump for the first time this season.

WEEK 3 PPR RANKINGS:
Quarterback | Running back | Wide receiver | Tight end | D/ST

There are plenty of kickers who could easily have double-digit points, though. It happens every week, so don't worry too much if your preferred kicker isn't in our top 12. We're always guessing at this position, so go with your gut and cheer for coaches who like to settle.
