The WR position has come full circle as it relates to fantasy football. Strategies such as WR Heavy have become more popular with all the talent. Because of this, the amount of WRs in the first round is substantial.
Because this is an auction draft, you don't need to pull the trigger on the first WR who is auctioned off. It would be most helpful to personally rank the WRs in tiers based off of your desires. If there is four WRs in that first tier for you, wait until the last one from that tier is up for auction to bid your budget.
This is the complete opposite from a snake draft because you don't have a say of who you will be picking from. The WR position in auctions has an immense amount of flexibility for drafters.
With the sheer amount of valuable options late, there is no pressure spending a chunk of your budget on WRs, even in PPR.
Top overall player Ja'Marr Chase can cost up to 30% of your budget in some PPR leagues. You know what you are getting when it comes to Chase but by paying that price you need him to be the WR1 and by a wide margin to pay that cost back.
In 2025, you can land rookies primed for a big role such as Emeka Egbuka for $1 or Jayden Higgins for $0. The talent later on for that cost is excellent. It just depends how you want to divide your budget.
